Workforce Explorer is part of Peoplefluent’s ongoing commitment to developing and enhancing mobile workforce applications, and is now available. A recent study conducted by Network World magazine reviewed the enterprise computing requirements of 250 IT managers. Respondents indicated that nine out of 10 are planning to dramatically expand the number of mobile applications deployed in their enterprises during 2011. More than half (51 %) cited productivity as a key driver for fast-tracking mobile applications for enterprise users and 50% acknowledged that decisions are being driven by employee requests and requirements.
Industry researchers at Gartner have observed similar trends, indicating that 40% of employee/manager transactions will be mobile by 2015. Although Workforce Explorer is platform agnostic, Peoplefluent’s decision to first launch the application for the iPad is validated by the device’s growing popularity. According to a May 2011 of web traffic, the iPad dominates the tablet category, representing “89% of tablet traffic” in all major international markets according to comScore’s Device Essentials report on device usage.
