IDC Presented on the Future of Work at PeopleFluent Global User Conference WISDOM 2015
Research Vice President Lisa Rowan Led Breakout Discussion on How Technology
Will Impact Employee Efficiency
WALTHAM, Mass. – March 10, 2015 – PeopleFluent®, a leading human capital management technology company, today announced discussion highlights from the company’s global user conference WISDOM 2015 breakout session “The Future of Work and the HR Imperative,” featuring Research Vice President Lisa Rowan at IDC. Rowan spoke on the importance of thinking about the employee experience given the way technology has changed in today’s work environments and the reverberations that social, mobile, cloud and Internet of Things have had on employee engagement and productivity.
Rowan shared some of her completed research, which highlighted the importance of social and mobile in talent management disciplines to engage employees. In particular, she found that processes including recruiting, performance, and learning, among others, could benefit most from the social revolution. When speaking on the importance of mobile for HR executives, she illustrated that the best opportunity lies within the recruiting and learning disciplines. Rowan’s research also showed that pay for performance is on the rise as employers make strategic efforts to attract and retain key employees.
An additional key takeaway from the session was provided for anyone who may have doubted the importance of employee engagement. Rowan shared a story of a regional grocery chain that was named in the top 10 among the top 100 Best Places to Work and how they utilized technology to retain and inspire employees. This resulted in an engaged workforce, creating positive customer experiences and testimonials, such as, “The individuals that work there make it a wonderful experience to shop there.”
