Let’s get ready for the day
Carissa’s Compensation dashboard is where she starts her day as Compensation Manager. She launches and manages various projects from here. First, she drills into the main area for Compensation planning, and then launches into various daily tasks and answers typical questions that often come up on compensation cycles and budgets. Next, she can review high priority tasks to complete them in a timely manner. Embedded analytics provide visibility and a means to drill into other data around compensation. Next she can view the compensation related videos that may help her learn more about the product or help coach a new manager. Lastly, with social collaboration built into the dashboard, she can chat with colleagues about compensation issues in real time, for example, about a new hire, spot bonus, or a budget concern. From this one dashboard, Carissa accesses everything she needs to manage compensation tasks.
Total Compensation
From the Total Compensation area she can kickoff a variety of processes, analyze her compensation data, create reports, and view the total compensation for her group or other departments. Carissa can also spot check each of the compensation cycles in progress with regard to increases or budget.
Compensation Export to Excel
Exporting to Excel to manipulate compensation data is as easy as one click. The PeopleFluent Compensation system takes charge and exports Carissa’s file to the place of her choice in .csv format. Carissa can now make those needed calculations.
Manipulate Data in Excel
Carissa’s compensation summary from PeopleFluent can now be seen in its entirety here in Excel. She can then apply any changes or perform specific calculations that she may be more comfortable doing in Excel.
Importing as easy as 1-2-3
Carissa has made the changes to her Excel file and saved it as a .csv to import back into PeopleFluent Compensation. She can choose the file and hit Upload and Validate for step 1.
Step 2 Validation Complete
PeopleFluent Compensation now tells Carissa that her file is validated against the data that she had exported earlier. This makes her job a little easier knowing that she doesn’t have to manipulate anything manually and that things are handled perfectly with PeopleFluent’s Compensation.
Success – Import Complete
Once she gets the green light – Carissa can now step away knowing that her file has been accepted and imported. Next, she may want to take a peek to see how the calculations she made may have impacted the overall budget.
Compensation Command Center
Within PeopleFluent Compensation Carissa is taking advantage of the Compensation Command Center. Here she is presented with a summary view of all reward cycles generated from various data sources. It allows her to quickly filter organizationally, see how many employees are in specific plans, how many plans are in progress, and ultimately see where the budget and money within the compensation cycles is going. Carissa and her boss along with others in compensation will use this as a go-to resource for key metrics to report up to senior management.
Organize around your tasks
Carissa can view all her various tasks and priorities in an organized dashboard. Tasks are specific to Carissa and provide valuable details around due dates as well as notes associated with the specific task. By drilling into each of the tasks she can launch and step through the process to accomplish everything in a timely manner.
Spot Bonus - Task
As part of her tasks – Carissa has been asked to put in a spot bonus for Juan and send it through the proper approval process shown here. The great thing about this type of task is once submitted it will follow the configured process for completion and the task is off Carissa’s list.
Off-Cycle Reward - Task
Carissa had a task of providing Peter with an Off-Cycle Reward. Here she has everything she needs to proceed including the employee’s compensation demographics, three-year history of total compensation including bonuses and rewards, and the ability to see where this employee falls within the market for this position. This off-cycle reward screen allows her to have insight into what reward should be given at this time and follow through with the task at hand.
Total Compensation Cycles - Task
Last on Carissa’s compensation tasks was to review and update the Total Compensation Cycle for 2016. She can view all the information combined from their various locations around the globe. If needed she could export this data to Excel, perform a specific calculation she doesn’t want to in PeopleFluent Compensation and upload it back into the system in aggregate to quickly analyze and decide how it affects the overall budget.

Training and Coaching
Carissa wants to embed a coaching video for others to use for Compensation and Pay for Performance practices and processes. Hopefully, this will reduce number of questions she needs to answer on these topics. Video can be used to provide coaching on processes, regularly, or for annual or one time projects. In each video, Carissa can embed a PowerPoint presentation to provide additional information or elicit feedback.
Provide Useful Information
Carissa has been asked to update the video area for everyone within the organization. Marketing has provided her with the video shot on Compensation Goal Setting and the video that was produced by the CFO talking about budgets and overall performance of the company. She has the ability to quickly configure the dashboard and have the readily available for the right group.
Team – High Performers - Analytics
Carissa can drill into specific compensation analytics and see data related to pay for performance. She can quickly assess the areas that are the most important and drill down for more details. In this example, she needs to drill into the Strategic group to see where they stack up in their performance reviews. This information determines if the individuals within the group are being compensated appropriately.
Strategic Group Analysis
Upon further review and drilling into the data Carissa can quickly see that the largest group classified as Strategic by the organization is performing for the most part on par, but may not warrant the extra money the managers want to put into the budget for the major increases. She can print this, export the information to a presentation and use it to justify the decisions made.

PeopleFluent Social Collaboration
Carissa likes that she and others in the organization are finally using the social collaboration within the PeopleFluent dashboard. It allows her to see who is asking compensation related questions and provides a mechanism for her to respond to them quickly without using e-mail.
Anytime / Anywhere Feedback
Carissa has the ability to provide feedback at anytime and also solicit feedback from others pertaining to employees that work for her. The feedback can then be stored for future use in the compensation and performance appraisals as well as a part of the overall pay for performance ratings.
Personal Feedback
Carissa is able to provide a note of recognition to Philip’s record and even tie the feedback to a specific competency. These competencies can be tied to rewards, bonuses, and other compensation the employee can receive during the year or at their annual review process.
Social Streaming
Carissa has specific feeds that she wants to keep track of – her Twitter account, LinkedIn, and compensation related colleagues. In the Social Blender she can easily stay on top of what is going on, new compensation items being discussed in the marketplace, and if there are new regulations about to be put into place. The social collaboration allows everyone to stay in tune with the latest news and what is being said about and within your organization.
